Committee Description

The Nomination Committee consists of at least five members: the Past President, who serves as Chair, the current President, and the President-Elect, and additional members appointed by Council.

This committee is dedicated to identifying and recommending outstanding ASRI members as candidates for election to Society leadership positions, with intentional attention to the diversity of scientific expertise, research interests, geography, institution, ethnicity, and gender represented across the membership.

The role of the committee is to:

  • Develop a slate of qualified member candidates eligible to stand for annual election to the ASRI Council;
  • Develop a slate of qualified member candidates eligible to stand for election to the five ASRI committees that include elected members: the Awards, Finance, Nominating, Program, and Publications Committees; and
  • Submit the proposed slate to Council for approval prior to the annual ASRI election.

Committee Mission

The Nomination Committee ensures that ASRI's elected leadership reflects the talent, breadth, and diversity of its membership.

The committee will:

  1. Identify Qualified Candidates — Recruit and vet prospective candidates for Council and committee positions, ensuring that those put forward demonstrate the experience, commitment, and expertise needed to advance the Society's mission; and
  2. Reflect the Membership — Approach the nomination process with a deliberate commitment to diversity, ensuring that slates of candidates represent the full range of scientific backgrounds, career stages, institutions, geographies, and identities within the reproductive immunology community.
