Reproductive Immunology

Early Career Researchers Committee Description

The Early Career Researchers Committee (ECRC) consists of a Chair appointed by the President, a Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect, and six to eight members serving staggered two-year terms. Membership is designed to represent a range of career stages, including graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and early-stage investigators.

This committee reflects ASRI's commitment to supporting the next generation of scientists and clinicians by building a strong, inclusive, and forward-looking community of emerging leaders in reproductive immunology.

The role of the committee is to:

  • Support and engage trainees and early-stage investigators through mentorship, career development programming, and leadership opportunities;
  • Advise the Program Committee on early career researcher-focused sessions and innovative programming formats at the ASRI Annual Meeting;
  • Partner with other ASRI committees to enhance recruitment, retention, and visibility of early career members; and
  • Identify and cultivate future leaders of the Society as trainees advance through their careers.

Committee Mission

The Early Career Researchers Committee serves as ASRI's dedicated resource for advancing the professional growth, scientific visibility, and leadership development of trainees and early-stage investigators in reproductive immunology.

The committee will:

  1. Develop Careers — Organize mentoring events, workshops, and programming focused on grants, publishing, career transitions, and leadership, providing early career members with the tools and connections needed to thrive in the field;
  2. Shape Scientific Programming — Work with the Program Committee to ensure the ASRI Annual Meeting includes sessions, panels, and formats that reflect the interests and needs of early career researchers; and
  3. Build Community — Foster a sense of belonging and engagement among trainees and early-stage investigators through networking events, international outreach, and collaboration with Membership and Engagement & Outreach to strengthen the pipeline of future ASRI leaders.

Committee Deliverables

The committee is expected to produce, at minimum:

  • At least one early career researcher-focused session or workshop at the ASRI Annual Meeting; and
  • At least one mentored networking event, such as a breakfast, lunch, or evening forum, to facilitate meaningful connections between early career members and established investigators.
