If you submitted an abstract for ASRI 2020, it will remain in our system for 2021 unless you officially withdraw it.

Presenting Author Requirements

Abstracts should be relevant to the main meeting’s theme.  Communications will be made with the presenting author only

If your abstract is accepted for presentation, you will be required to register for the meeting to confirm your acceptance and be included in the journal proceedings. 

Abstract Format Requirements

Begin your abstract with the abstract title, author’s names, and author’s, affiliations. Underline the name of the presenting author. Abstracts should be structured and consist of no more than 500 words, and organized into four paragraphs labeled: Problem, Method of Study, Results and Conclusions. Please see sample formatting below.

ABSTRACT TITLE -  Maximum 20 words.  Please capitalize the first letter of the first word. The remaining words should not be capitalized. Please do NOT end the title with a period

AUTHORS & AFFILIATIONS - You must enter the names of ALL AUTHORS (including yourself if you are an author) in the order in which you wish them to appear in the printed journal text. You will also need to include their institution, city, state and country.  Author names entered in any other section will NOT be printed in the author index or the final program.

ABSTRACT BODY - Please include your abstract body below (max 500 words). No tables or images will be allowed.   Your abstract must be organized into four separate paragraphs:  Problem / Method of Study / Results / Conclusions

CATEGORY- Select Clinical or Basic Science

PRESENTATION PREFERENCE - Select Poster or Oral. (*Invited Speakers should choose the Invited Speaker option)

GUSDON COMPETITION - TRAINEES ONLY.  Indicate if you wish to be considered for this award.  Applicants will be required to upload a letter from their supervisor attesting to their trainee status.

TRAVEL GRANT - Select if you would like to be considered for a travel grant to attend the meeting.

PERMISSIONS - Acknowledge author permissions and authorize publication online in the journal.

REGISTRATION - Confirm that at least 1 presenting author will register for and attend the meeting to present the work.

Gusdon Competition for Trainees

Dr. John Gusdon Memorial New Investigator Award is given annually to a new investigator with trainee status who has made a significant contribution by presenting an outstanding research paper during the annual meeting of the ASRI. This award is given in memory of Dr. John P. Gusdon, a founding member of the ASRI, and an advocate of student participation in ASRI Meetings. When you submit your abstract, please check whether you would like to be considered for the Gusdon Award and provide proof of trainee status by letter from supervisor. 

ASRI also provides several travel awards to trainees who first-author a top-ranked abstract.

Notifications of Acceptance

Notices of poster acceptance, oral presentations and travel grants will be emailed to the submitting authors by MARCH 1, 2021.


All accepted papers will be published online in the May 2021 issue of the Journal of Reproductive Immunology.

POSTER Presentation Guidelines

All abstracts are presented as posters and compete for awards and short oral presentations (10 minutes) in addition to the poster display. Poster Boards are double sided with 4 posters per board. 

  • Maximum size of each poster is 48″w x 48″h. 
  • Abstract numbers will be indicated on the poster boards. Do not mount your poster on someone else's board.
  • Posters should be laid out in PORTRAIT mode to ensure that your poster fits within a 4' square area.
  • Posters should include the title of the abstract and the names and affiliations of the authors.  
  • All information should be readable from distances of four 4 feet (1.2 m) or more.  Use Times New Roman or Arial font size 12 or larger.
  • Velcro is preferred for hanging posters. Pins or thumb tacks may also be used - 4 pins per poster will be provided.
  • You may also want to include a QR code for quick and easy reference to an online version of your poster.
