A postdoctoral fellowship is available in the field of Developmental Neuroscience to study the fetal programming of mental disorders. More specifically, projects will focus on the effect of maternal stress and antidepressant use during pregnancy on fetal and postnatal brain development. The position is available immediately in the creative, highly productive, transdisciplinary team in the Bonnin Lab. Research in our lab focuses on the mechanisms of normal and pathological development of the mammalian brain in relation to placental function during pregnancy, using advanced techniques such as ex vivo placental perfusions, 3D brain circuit reconstructions using light sheet microscopy, live animal imaging etc. The Bonnin Lab is located in the Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, Department of Physiology and Neuroscience, ranked 2nd in NIH funding among all Physiology departments at US Universities.
Candidates must possess a PhD or MD/PhD in areas of Physiology, Neurosciences, or Biochemistry / Molecular Biology and have experience working in rodent models.
